Rooted in centuries of tradition, the Kathak program at Ramagya Arts Academy is guided by the teachings of Smt. Luna Poddar (disciple of Pt. Birju Maharaj). Suitable for ages 6 and above, the program offers training in the nuances of rhythm, footwork, and expressions characteristic of classical Indian dance.
Facilitator Profile - Ms. Mahua Sarkar
A seasoned dancer trained in Bharatnatyam and Kathak, Ms. Sarkar is also versed in the Uday Shankar Technique. She brings a wealth of stage experience, having performed in India and abroad, and was part of the Padmavati dance project at the Paris Opera.
Led by Mahua Sarkar, this program offers a fusion of the Uday Shankar Technique and Graham Technique. Ideal for students aged 6 and above, it enables fluid self-expression through contemporary movements that blend emotion, storytelling, and technical excellence.

Mahua Sarkar is a contemporary dance facilitator at Ramagya Arts Academy, known for her expertise in Classical, modern and contemporary dance techniques such as release technique, floor work, contact improvisation, and lyrical movement. She trains students in fluid body movements, breath-based flow, and dynamic use of space, helping them master rolls, slides, leaps, and expressive gestures.
